Payador, The UK Tango Magazine
Your Tango Guide
Payador : folksinger, a travelling artist in Argentina, Chile, Uruguay in the 18th century performing alone or in cooperation with other payadores. They entertained people with improvised songs and poetry, and through their songs and verses they were informing residents in rural regions of what was going on large towns and cities. For many people, payadores were the ‘national news network’ and the only source of information about the external world.
Welcome to Payador, the first and most comprehensive Tango UK online magazine where you'll find everything you need and want to know about Argentine Tango in the UK and Europe.
After several months of hard work we are proud to present the first edition. From now on the tango community in the UK will have its own online guide updated weekly with the latest news, articles, gossip and containing The Tango Calendar bringing together information about classes, specialized workshops and tango for more than 100 cities in the UK.
We invite Tango organisers to take advantage of our free subscription and fill The Tango Calendar with their events. All visitors can also subscribe for free and gain access to special networks and social sections such as: Find Your Dance Partner and Group Meetings.
Enjoy our first edition!
Un abrazo
