Ancizar Velasquez

Dancer
began his career in dance at the age of 13 when his great passions
were breakdance and salsa in Cali-Colombia.  Under international teachers he studied
ballet  for  six  years, Latin American and  European dances,
music and drama at the School of Fine Arts of Cali,
(Incolballet. Professional Dance School). 
He started teaching folk dances when he was only 16.
As part of his development as an accomplished dancer, he also studied 
contemporary,  modern,  tap,  jazz, Agentinean  tango and choreography composition
in Colombia, Argentina and Europe with international dance masters. 
Cesar has  also attended several courses in physiotherapy, biomechanics and physical training and has 
worked in this area for several years.  At this time he also trained in
cultural administration. As  a dancer  he  joined in several professional
dance companies including  Incolballet, Maria Sanford Dance Company,
Gaudere, Tomson's Ballet in Colombia and Tiempo de Tango in the UK.

Argentinean Tango
He started  learning tango in 1992 and he  has been teaching  tango for
12 years. Some of his teachers in Argentina  include
Natalia & Gabriel Angio, Roberto Herrera, Gustavo Naveira,
Raul Bravo and Mingo Pugliese amongst  others. He has been
teaching and performing tango with his partner Carolina Gonzalez
around  the UK for  the last  seven years and they are regularly invited
to teach and develop artistic projects abroad. They  have organised
and directed Tango Extravaganza UK,  the annual London International
Tango Festival since 2007.

In  2008 Cesar danced  in the West End  show 
Flamenco Flamenka directed by Craig Revel Horwood 
of the world famous TV programme  Strictly Come Dancing.

Choreographer
In 1990  Cesar founded and directed Danza Experimental de Cali
(DECA) where  he started  teaching and directing, and in 1998 he developed
international exchange programmes with dance companies in
Latin America and Europe.
From 1993  to  1996  he was a dancer, choreographer and Artistic Director
at Maria Sanford a traditional and prestigious dance school in
Cali-Colombia.

TV

UK TV stars Patsy Palmer and Sid Owen
 In 2009 Cesar  was selected to film with Patsy Palmer (Bianca)
and Sid Owen (Ricky) for the DVD of the 25th anniversary of
Eastenders, the oldest soap opera in Europe.
The DVD is being sold since February 2010 in all DVD shops around the UK.
 As a dancer, he has  also participated in several music videos
for TV in Colombia and the UK as the one with the acclaimed group
"Roll Deep" in Shake A Leg, London, 2006. He was choreographer and dancer of videos for the
famous salsa band Grupo Niche, Grammy Award Nominated
1991-92.
Cesar was also in the main performance for the UK Salsa Congress 2005, and  in the same year 
in Grammy awared Eddie Palmieri´ s UK Show, Victor Manuel, amongst others.

Carolina Gonzales


 Carolina started studying folk dance and ballet  as a child  
and grew up dancing salsa   in Colombia.
She also studied contemporary dance and gymnastics in Holland.  
Whilst progressing her studies in administration and accounting
between 1995 and 2000 , she continued studying  jazz and contemporary dance .
From 1996 to 2000  she was a dancer in Danza Experimental de Cali
(DECA).
Later she co-directed and  established  an Argentinian Tango school in Cali,
Colombia where she created and co-directed with Cesar the dance piece
"Remembrances", which involved 40 artists  ( dancersand musicians ).
Carolina came to London in 2000 and since then
has been working as  a tango and contemporary dancer with artLAT
and  the Tiempo de Tango show,  whilst also teaching and
performing with Cesar around  the UK and Europe. She also designed
the costumes for Tiempo de Tango 2004.
For the last 11 years she has been focussing on Argentinean tango,
learning, teaching and performing. Some of her teachers in
Argentina have been Roberto Herrera, Natalia & Gabriel Angio,
Gustavo Naveira & Giselle Anne and Mingo Pugliese amongst others.
